Zoom Call Screening refers to a built-in security and anti-spam feature for Zoom Phone that intercepts automated robocalls and telemarketers before your device ever rings.
How it Works
- Audio Challenge: When an external, unverified party dials your number, they hear an automated prompt requiring them to press "1" (or another specific key) to bypass the system.
- Robocall Mitigation: Because automated bots and robocallers cannot listen to the audio prompt and press the requested key, they fail the challenge and are automatically disconnected.
How to Enable Call Screening
You can turn on call screening through the Zoom Web Portal:
- Log into your account on the Zoom Web Portal.
- Click Phone in the primary navigation menu.
- Locate the Settings tab.
- Scroll down to the Call Screening toggle and turn it on.
- Check the box for "Exclude my contacts from call screening, calls from contacts will reach you as normal". Deselect the checkbox to screen all inbound callers.
