In December, the UCPath Oracle hosting platform transfers to Amazon Web Services (AWS). This shift provides a mature platform for an improved end-user experience and better system performance for critical UCPath areas, leading to faster payroll cycle times.
UCPath will be offline beginning at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9 until 6 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020. This outage occurs seven days after multi-factor authentication (MFA) integration with UCPath.
Coordinated testing efforts with UCPath Center and UCOP teams in SIT and UAT are focused on the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), which is moving to MuleSoft from Oracle SOA.
The following portions will remain the same:
- Core UCPath functionality
 - PeopleSoft HCM
 - Drupal/Inflight Portal
 - Identity provisioning
 - Identity authentication
 - Managed File Transfer - Go Anywhere

Other system updates include:
- Secure Enterprise Search (SES) will upgrade from v2 to v6.
 - Database and DDODS Oracle OBIEE will change from Oracle RAC 12c to Oracle 19c on Amazon RDS.
 - Automated Batch Processing Control-M will upgrade from v8 to v9.

For before and after diagrams of the new AWS platform, review these PDF slides from the July 2020 presentation.
Affected functions include:
- Viewing earning statements and W-2s (Note: The first December biweekly pay statement will be available early in UCPath, beginning on Monday, December 7, 2020, at 8 a.m. Pay statements will not be accessible during the outage.)

- Employees will have seven days to log into UCPath with MFA before the outage. We may receive higher volumes of support requests than usual.

 - Making address changes
 - Enrolling in direct deposit
 - Making benefit selections

Payroll timelines and timesheet submissions may be impacted during the system cutover. Please refer to the UCSB UCPath website and the calendar below for more details.
