WSG co-chair nomination and election information

  • If you would like to nominate someone or yourself, send an email to and we will take care of the rest.
  • Some reasons to serve:
    • Give back to the UCSB web community.
    • Foster collaboration among web professionals at UCSB.
    • Looks good on your resume.
  • Timeline:
    • We need to announce the nominees before Jan 6th.
    • Voting will happen at the February 6th WSG meeting.
  • You can review the WSG Charter ( which describes the WSG co-chair duties or send any questions our way.

Web/Accessibility Policy/Action Work Group status

  • Updated policy: Information Technology Accessibility -
  • Jennifer Lofthus will call a meeting in January to discuss how to implement this Information Technology Accessibility Policy at UCSB.

UCSB Graphic Identity Guidelines update from Alex Parraga

  • Public Affairs & Communications plans to release the final version of the visual identity guidelines--along with the corresponding assets--in the next week. Details & relevant links will be sent out via email to those who have participated in the process thus far.
  • All files--guidelines and assets--will be made available for download via BOX.
  • The pages will also be updated this week to provide abbreviated guidance on the primary elements of the system. Full guidance will always be found in the PDF guidelines document. In the future (2018), a new domain will be launched to provide easy-to-navigate guidance that is on par with the detail provided in the PDF document.
  • A new email address has also been created to field questions or inquiries pertaining to the new system.
  • The redesign launch remains scheduled for January. Further details will be provided relative to the use of Pantheon's Custom Upstreams as a tool to leverage/replicate the branding, UI, and functionality of that website.
  • For now, any questions can be directed to Alex Parraga.

Consolidate WSG GitHub repos to new UCSantaBarbara GitHub

  • Kevin Wu suggested moving the ucsb-wsg repos into “UCSantaBarbara.”
  • Those present at the meeting agreed that it would be a good idea.
  • Gary Scott will lead the migration of ucsb-wsg repos and issues.
  • Since the Web Guide uses GitHub pages, we will need to update the DNS for
  • If other groups are interested in consolidating under “UCSantaBarbara,” contact Kevin Wu.
