        - understand various use cases of student e-mail by campus depts/orgs
        - evaluate requirements against vendor options & select an appropriate vendor to meet these needs

        - roll out u-mail outsourcing pilot to selected group of students
        - collect continual feedback from pilot group to iteratively improve services
        Summer 2012
        - assuming pilot success, migrate to outsourced service

  • There was an open dialogue about the Associated Students Legislative Council Resolution to migrate U-Mail to Google, which dated back to 2010.
  • AS provided a copy of their Resolution [attached].
  • The representatives from AS noted that they use Google Calendar.
  • Support for things outside e-mail (such as calendaring and online document sharing) will have to be addressed and funded, they currently are not.
  • A brief demonstration of Office 365 and Google Apps for Education was given.
  • No business use-cases were submitted that were outside the scope of the original set of expectations for the next generation U-Mail service
