Lynda.com Training for UCSB Employees
On January 16, 2013, Human Resources announced that UCSB has obtained a campus subscription to lynda.com for all UCSB faculty, staff and student employees. Lynda.com is an on-demand resource featuring an online training library of courses that helps users learn software, design, and business skills to achieve their personal and professional goals.
With UCSB’s "lyndaCampus" subscription, users will receive lynda.com’s premium-level option with unlimited access with no cost to them (at work and for personal use outside of work) to a selection of current video tutorials including all accompanying exercise files. Courses include such topics as Photoshop, web design, Microsoft and Adobe applications, HTML, and SharePoint, among thousands of other courses and documentary features. The full course listing can be found on the lynda.com Web site.
Lynda.com courses are self-paced, so they can be completed continuously or incrementally, as time permits, or used as an easily searchable reference resource. Pre-tests and certificates of completion are available.
UCSB employees can access lynda.com with their UCSBNetID and password via the "Log in Here to Lynda.com" link on https://it.ucsb.edu/services/lynda, or by using the "UCSB access to lynda.com" links on various UCSB Web sites, including the Human Resources and Academic Personnel home pages. Users can log in from any computer, whether at home or at work, and even from their smartphones.
UCSB’s lynda.com subscription is the result of extensive research and testing by many different constituencies across campus. Human Resources would like to thank Ann Dundon, Elise Meyer, Tom Putnam, Arlene Allen, Alan Moses, Alx Sanchez, George Michaels, and many others for their forethought, comprehensive attention to detail, and dedication to bringing this project to fruition.
