The Office of the Chief Information Officer 

UCSB’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) is committed to implementing and supporting information technology that advances the mission and strategic goals of UC Santa Barbara. 

The CIO provides oversight for all IT activities, setting the mission, vision and values of information technology at our university in accordance with UCSB’s strategic plan.

IT Organizations

Information Technology at UCSB is distributed across different organizations and departments that vary in size. The largest of these departments, Information Technology Services, has more than 200 employees, while the smallest has a single employee.

IT governance at UC Santa Barbara connects community-informed ideas to action through a transparent, accountable, and collaborative process that aligns technology decisions with the university’s mission and impact.
