Salesforce Development Intern

Through the IT Internship Program, the College of Letters & Science IT (LSIT) is currently seeking a Salesforce Administration and Development Intern. This is your time to shine! LSIT is seeking an innovative and motivated self-starter to assist with the build out and development of a Salesforce Org supporting the curriculum planning, academic advising, and business needs of the College of Letters and Science and more.

JupyterHub Service Intern

As a member of the UCSB IT Internship Program through the College of Letters and Science IT (LSIT) and sponsored by the Office of the CIO, this paid opportunity offers impactful, project-based work, experience in a collaborative, creative environment where you will partner with experienced developers, other cohort interns, and higher education leaders to design and implement real-world solutions that will transform higher education processes.


The incumbent will contribute to the LSIT JupyterHub Instructional Service.  The JupyterHub Service is a cloud platform that provides instructors a highly customizable, homogeneous computing environment for students to access via their own mobile device for specific courses throughout the academic quarter.  The underlying infrastructure utilizes orchestrated containerization in the Google Cloud Platform.  The incumbent will learn how to curate computing environments for specific academic disciplines, including Probability and Applied Statistics, and other disciplines that interface with Data Sciences.  The incumbent will also be trained on how to manage and design computing clusters on Google Cloud and AWS.
 

Cloud Solutions Architect

The student intern will be a member of the Campus Cloud and Identity Team assisting with the development of UCSB’s shared Amazon Web Services infrastructure.  The Campus Cloud includes centrally managed services and tooling to facilitate administrative, academic and research computing.  The incumbent will help to build and monitor production services on AWS using tools such as Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Simple Cloud Storage Service (S3), CloudFormation, CloudWatch, QuickSight, and SageMaker.  The incumbent will also have the opportunity to earn Associate and Professional level AWS certifications.

Digital Library Development DevOps Intern

The UC Santa Barbara Library’s Digital Library Development (DLD) department is responsible for developing digital platforms, tools, and content to support teaching, research, and outreach. The DLD engineering team is a small, hybrid-remote group of developers that works collaboratively to develop and deploy software systems supporting this mission. We use Agile- and DevOps-aware methodologies and technologies including Ruby/Rails, Docker, and Kubernetes. Our work frequently involves collaboration with other UC campuses and Open Source partners, and much of our code is hosted in public (GitLab) repositories. 


Under the close supervision of the Associate Director for Digital Library Engineering (or delegate), the DevOps Intern is embedded within the DLD engineering team to participate in the software lifecycle from development to production. With support from mentors and collaborators, the intern will work to improve build/test/deploy pipelines across a variety of web applications and other library systems. The intern will be exposed to DevOps concepts and have the opportunity to apply them to cloud-native computing environments. 
 

Data Systems Analyst Intern

The student intern in Student Information Systems and Technology (SIS&T) will work as a member of the Data Services team and will have opportunities to participate in Power BI data analytics development, AWS data platform development and SQL Server database development.
