We are excited to announce that UCSB will transition to a new electronic timekeeping system, UKG Pro Workforce Management (UKG Pro WFM), with a planned go-live date of May 11, 2025.

Why is our timekeeping system changing?

Our current system, UKG Workforce Central (Kronos), has served us well over the years. However, UKG has announced that Kronos will reach its end-of-life and will no longer be supported after December 2025. This presents an excellent opportunity for UCSB to enhance our timekeeping technology.

UKG Pro WFM is a robust, feature-rich replacement that aligns closely with our current system’s core functionality. This ensures a smooth transition for our staff with minimal disruption to daily operations.

What can I expect with this transition?

  • UKG Pro WFM has a more modern, intuitive interface than Kronos. This new interface will have some differences in navigation and terminology.
  • Optional training will be available for employees and managers approximately two weeks before go-live to help familiarize you with the new system.

Business processes will largely remain the same, ensuring operational continuity after go-live. Departmental timekeeping staff have received regular progress updates and will continue to be informed about system changes.

We are committed to keeping the campus community updated during this transition and will provide additional details closer to go-live, including instructions to access training and other resources.

Questions or feedback? Please direct them to your department’s Payroll Manager or Timekeeper.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation as we make this important upgrade to our timekeeping system.
