On behalf of UCSB Information Technology Services (ITS) and the Campus Telephony Refresh Project team, we would like to invite you to a virtual, campus-wide town hall for all phone system users on Wednesday, December 14, at 1:30 p.m. ITS staff will provide a detailed overview of the new Zoom Phone system, with discussions around what is changing and what to expect between now and the phased go-live dates. What is the Campus Telephony Refresh Project?
The Campus Telephony Refresh Project aims to transform UCSB telephony capabilities by replacing the current legacy phone system with Zoom Phone, a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) system. The existing system lacks the flexibility to quickly deploy standard features of modern systems, such as VoIP for remote users, caller identification for incoming calls, and SMS messaging options. Moving to Zoom Phone will increase accessibility and portability and offer higher scalability with lower costs.
