Information Technology Services (ITS) invites you to attend the “Enable & Accelerate Research” workshop on Tuesday, October 10 from 9:30 a.m. to noon, the third and final session of our “Research on AWS” series. Scott Friedman, Amazon Web Services’ Higher Education Research Leader, will discuss how AWS High Performance Computing (HPC) and Container options can help accelerate Research on the UCSB campus, with special attention to the following topics:

  • An introduction to creating an HPC environment and processing data with AWS’ Parallel Cluster service
  • A hands-on workshop for HPC tools using AWS demo accounts

This session will take place in Elings Hall room 1605. In-person attendance is highly encouraged, but a Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person. Please fill out this Google Form to register and indicate your attendance mode. Note that in-person attendance will be capped based on room capacity.

Additionally, AWS experts will be on-site on Tuesday afternoon to host one-on-one or team discussions. If you’d like to validate an architecture, discuss a service, or ask additional questions, please sign up for a 30-minute session.
