We are thrilled to invite you to the AI Community of Practice Spring Symposium from May 20-24. This FREE, weeklong event is designed to bring together faculty, staff and students to explore the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in serving our campus community and to engage in meaningful discussions about the ethical, privacy, and security challenges associated with AI. The AI Community of Practice promotes an inclusive environment that welcomes the participation of all members of the UCSB community.
The Symposium features 20 sessions--plenaries, workshops, and roundtables--from our esteemed UCSB colleagues, including faculty, staff, and students. We are also delighted to have colleagues from other UC campuses and the UC Office of the President joining us to share their expertise and insights. These sessions embrace a scholar-practitioner model, focusing on practical applications of AI to support learning, workplace productivity, and research. All sessions will be held on Zoom, except for the in-person Closing Reception. As the culminating event of the Symposium, we invite you to attend the catered Closing Reception on Friday, May 24, from 2-4 pm at the Loma Pelona conference center. Your presence and participation would significantly contribute to the success of this event and help foster a vibrant discussion about the future of AI in our campus community.
We invite you to review the program and register here.
We look forward to your participation and the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions about the potential of AI in our campus community. If you have any questions or require further information, please don't hesitate to contact us.
